I am a new member am trying to obtain the SKC code for my car. I purchased a second key but the dealer wants $$$ to reprogram it.

If it's the correct key, they should only charge you 1 hour max. In reality, 1/2 hour is more reasonable since it only takes 5 minutes start-finish.

Take a look in the mk4 Key FAQ for more on programming the remotes, you should have immo2 and it shouldn't be too hard to get the SKC.
