Been Reading a lot About My car on Forums decided to join one. My 2004 Jetta needs some work and been trying to figure out a few things on my own. I have learned quite a bit and will keep an open mind as the cost of repairs seems to be going up at the dealer. Never let the dealer change my oil learned that one myself been using schaefers last 2-3 years and since my friend sells it, learned to pumping it out the top.
So Far I'm thinking I need A timing belt, Cam Shaft inspection, fuel filter, auto fluid, Brakes soon, Shocks like to get something sporty. Well Ill be reading on what I can do myself from this site or find genuine enthusiast help.

Welcome! I like Koni reds. They are hydraulic and adjustable. Some people prefer gas shocks like Bilsteins. There are writeups in the FAQ on how to do the struts.
