Welcome! I'm not sure what engine you have but I know Audi A4 with 2.0L pumpe duse engines had the same problems as the B5 Passat with 2.0L pumpe duse engine. The oil pump chain and tensioner break. They later changed it to a chain driven one. The repair procedure and more details on this problem are here:
