Hello! Everyone. I joined because im having problems with the immobilizer on my 2002
Jetta 1.8 T It sat for a few months. And the Batt died.
Immobilizer flashes. Car will start then quickly die.
I have tried the On position reset trick several times.
It did not work.

Do i need to have my key reprogrammed?
I only have 1 key.
Or do i need to buy a whole new key and have it programmed?

Any suggestions?

I read a tip that said, Unhook your battery cables.
And tie band them together for 30 min.
This worked for me, And the immobilizer turned off.
Thanks for all you guys help !

I've read about that before for various problems, apparently it helps with wierd ecu issues but that's good that your car is working fine again:)
