Howdy,

New forum member w/ 2001 VW Jetta TDI, No mods, 206K miles. Also a member of Fred's TDI Club. Notable work done - New Inj. Pmp. at 145K. Just looking for information about the following VCDS codes:

17946 - Fuel Shutoff Solenoid (N109): Open or Short to Ground
P1538 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
18065 - A/C System Input/Output: Short to Plus
P1657 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
18027 - Glow Plug Relay (J52): Open or Short to Ground
P1619 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17957 - Boost Pressure Regulation Valve (N75): Open or Short to Ground
P1549 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

I am currently diagnosing it as an electrical issue. Here is what I have previously done:
Vacuum lines replaced (All).
N75 Replaced (N75 code persists).
Ground Terminals under battery box cleaned (currently awaiting results).
Does anybody have any suggestions on what to do next?

Jake

Verify the ground wire ends. Someone here just had a problem where the ground wire looked clean but the terminal end had separated from the wire under the covering for no apparent reason! All fuses OK? There are a bunch of wires that run above the starter through a clip, the clip can rub the wiring through. However, some of those wires don't pass through that clip, still worth checking it and checking other wires.

Update on this, all grounds cleaned and ECU reset - the problem came back. I will move up the ladder to checking all interconnects, replacing relays/fuses that affects these circuits and checking wire runs for short-circuits. If no resolution, I will home-run all new wires back to the ECU.
