Hi,
I live in Bellingham Washington and have built a TDI-powered Vanagon Syncro Westfalia. I used an AHU from a 98 Jetta, to which I fitted PP764 nozzles and an electronic boost controller of my own design. I also modified the transaxle with gear ratios more compatible with the TDi's torque/speed characteristics. Of my seven cars, the Syncro is definitely my favorite.
I am very much into DIY - I gain great satisfaction from learning something new.
I am currenly focused on reviving a 98 Jetta AHU that has not been run for 6 years. It will barely idle and produces copious quantities of white smoke. The lone fault code is: 01268 Quantity Adjuster (N 146) 18-00 Upper Limit. I suspect the quantity adjuster has been fouled by corrosion products and fuel varnish. I'm looking at this situation as a perfect opportunity to learn how to rebuild a Bosch VE injection pump.
My question is: does anyone know of a good instruction set for rebuilding a TDI pump? I don't need spoon-feeding, but it would be nice to have a heads-up for component positions that need to be marked for reassembly and sequences that are critical to success.

Thanks for your help!

P.S. I have vagcom and am more than happy to help anyone in the area with VW/Audi CAN bus work.

Those pp 764 nozzles are something else, I love them after having just fitted a set to my standard 90:D
I can't remember where but I'm fairly sure I seen something for rebuilding the pump, it might have been on the other tdi site but I'm not sure, if I come accross it later I'll post back.:)

Yes; I remember really liking the additional power the nozzles and additional boost provided when first installed, but now I'm accustomed to it. The motor seems just enough in my heavy camper climbing the mountain passes we have around here.
Good suggestion to look around at other tdi sites....I didn't find anything useful on fred's, but this site has enough info to get me fired up: http://gnarlodious.com/Vanagon/Bosch_Pump/-Rebuild.html
I think I'll try it this weekend.
