Hi new member, am trying to diagnose an immobiliser problem in a year 2000 Golf. Dash immob light turn on recently (mother-in-laws car) and now it (the engine) shuts off after 1 sec. The key (metal) broke off the switch-blade remote less recently, so the plastic part with the rfid thingy may have been intermittently out of range, wondering what my options are...

Is it a new key that you're trying to program or has it just started having an immo problem out of the blue?
