Just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself... I purchased a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Diesel new on June 2, 2014 and today I just hit 5000 miles on it, I drive 40 miles to work and the same returning home. I am getting excellent mpg in fact i have only filled up 6 times not including the first tank the dealer put in... I am very impressed .... never been in for service and no issues..... no mods... but am putting a Hidden Hitch receiver on it to pull a small utility trailer... Thanks for reading any questions about my car just hit me up. will try to post pics soon.

About 9,500 miles for mine. Lots of highway driving. I filled it up once it hit at 20%.

Are you going to put a aftermarket cooler on, for the transmission if you are towing?

Highway driving 40 miles to work for me and 40 miles driving home in heavy traffic..... I was at 15%...... not towing anything major just a little 200 pound utility trailer... still waiting for hitch to come in the first one was for a gas model cruze and the diesel has a different mounting bracket

Who makes the hitch? part number? Where are you getting it from? I'm thinking of doing the same next time I swing by Centralia, PA nice to haul stuff.

As far as heavy traffic is concerned. I would get a cooler with a fan. They are in the $300 to $400 range but the thickness and quality is worth it.

Just an update for you in 32600 miles i have gone thru 9 gallons of DEF....
Thanks.. that is about 3600 MPG on DEF.. on one other site I saw a calculation for the DEF consumption on VWs (ones that are not compliant).. they were getting about 6300 MPG on DEF... some guessed the fix was going to be more DEF, I think your math pretty much proves that, assuming the Cruze runs a compliant program, which these number differences also tends to confirm.
