Hi All,
This is a great site, and very informative. Thanks to the admins for all the work you put into it- it shows!

I am trying to research the base differences between the 2010 and 2011 Jetta TDI Sportwagen. Unlike the sedans, the differences I've found seem to be minor tweaks. As far as I can tell reading the faqs, the following are the only changes on the Base model:

9w7 bluetooth (outgoing calls enabled, no longer need the ipod adapter)
TPMS changed to eliminate wheel sensors

All the other changes seem to be on the optional equipment.
Is there anything else different on the 2011 sportwagen base model? E.g., suspension, hinges, material changes, storage spaces, outlets etc.?

thanks in advance for any expertise.

Welcome! That's what I've picked up too. I doubt they changed the suspension. They probably just reused what they already had instead of trying to do more work.

Thank you! I appreciate any praise but my reward is you, the members.

To the best of my knowledge, the changes on the 2011 (other than what you mentioned) are the 2 new colors shown in the buying guide, tempest blue and toffee brown.

9w7 still comes with the ipod cable for playing through the stereo, it's just that the AD2P lets you play any music over the streaming bluetooth. IMHO, the real significance is that it lays the framework for future applications where you listen to live radio from the internet over your smart phone and play it over the radio. This is just starting to show up and AD2P lets you use it, should internet music over the phone become popular. You can always add 9w7 to your car if you don't have it and when they come out with the next generation bluetooth it will probably be a retrofit.

Thanks, that is what I thought. I'm just a newbie at TDIs. However, I think my current audi will be my last gas-powered car (notice I specified car, there aren't too many motorcycles that don't run on gas). This site is great and I hope I can contribute in the future.
