Hello everyone,

I'm a new member to the site, but as my name suggests, a long time lurker :) But I finally pulled the trigger on a Graphite Blue '11 Golf TDI 4dr 6MT, so figured it was time to officially join. I'm coming off of a WRX so I'm a bit of a gear head, just new to diesels. As such, I enjoy the fact that I virtually doubled my mileage but kept (most of) the torque. Looking forward to a mild ecu upgrade once the tunes mature a bit, but for now just enjoying the car as is. Thank you for the great site & community!

Pics are coming :D

The WRX was an '07 wagon with a larger STI turbocharger, an aftermarket intercooler / exhaust, and a homebrew tune by yours truly. Road dyno indicated a conservative 300hp / with torque limited at ~480Nm (any higher and the clutch slipped).

Everyone, this is Critter :D

I must say I am thrilled with my new ride, so far I've been averaging 48.2mpg driving to work. The WRX was nice, but I'm getting double the mileage out of the TDI.

Welcome to the forum. welcometomyturbodies

Thats a point, I read on another forum some TDI badges are chrome, some have a red I some have a red DI and some have a red TDI. This one has a blue I.

I think it depends on the power output which letters are coloured can anyone confirm this? ;)
Is that shadow blue?

They all have blue I. Maybe in the UK they have different colors for badging.
Graphite blue I believe - everyone that has seen the car in person has commented on the color. I actually originally looked for a JSW in this color but once I saw the Golf, I just had to have it ;)

You will see that Mike has said Graphite Blue. The Graphite Blue looks different in the UK its more of a grey.

I don't recall seeing it blue I's in the UK. There is no info where you live or what car you drive. I followed a Sharan the other day on the motorway and those were all red. I have seen red I's in the UK. The red ones maybe called Euro badges. ;)

Keith, I for one wish we had the 170 TDI as an option in the US (emissions, I know). And that's regardless of badge color, make it purple for all I care :)
