Hi,
Just bought 2001 Jetti TDI manual. Replacing timing belt and turbo (thinking about buying Garrett new centersection off Ebay).

Are you sure you need a turbo replacement? (That's one of the most often unneeded replacements around...)

As for the timing belt... make sure you replace everything in the timing belt pathway (belt(s), tensioner, 3 idlers, water pump, at least 5 so-called "stretch" bolts) - and be sure to use 2003-model-year parts...

There are some well-established vendors who hang around here and on the TDIclub, and you would be well served to buy a kit from one of them rather than eBay or some outfit out of North Carolina...

metalmanparts.com idparts.com dieselgeek.com boraparts.com and one or two others are very much respected for the quality of their wares...

All the best,

Yuri
