Hello I am new to this forum and i have recently bought a 2004 jetta wagon with the pd style injection.
I am also the owner of an 81 rabbit pick up and a 91 jetta eco diesel. both are diesel.
Any way the 2004 has about 90 thousand miles and im going to have to change the timing belt soon.
Does anyone have any good recommendations for parts/tools. I've seen the websites listed here, but im just looking for opinions from people here.
Thanks

welcometomyturbodies Welcome to the website!

The timing belt replacement procedure is here: http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a4/vw-jetta-tdi-timing-belt-change-replacement-bew-engine.htm

As for tools: metalnerd.com makes nice ones for the BEW (and other) engines... also available through resellers like Dieselgeek and possibly idparts and/or boraparts... Those named also have nice parts kits and are very reliable... (see metalmanparts and kermatdi as well) Just avoid a well-known seller in North Carolina who has numerous business names...

All the best,

Yuri
