Hello, I'm new to the site and thought I should join since I have a 02 Jetta TDI with over 110k on clock. The car belongs to my 17 year old daughter, who loves this car and I need to keep it running as long as I can and figured this would be a good place to reach out to the TDI experts for help with a do-it-yourselfer like me. Besides, who can afford the dealers prices.

Any help in the future would be greatly appreciated and if I can return the favor, I sure will.

02 Jetta Starts then shuts off

My daughters 02 Jetta starts right up, then turns right off. We just got back from a 1000 mile trip and had no problems. I read it may be related to an immobilizer... any suggestions?

Do you see the immobilizer light on the dashboard? If so, that's the problem. Go through the troubleshooting steps in the FAQ.

Are you talking about the immobilizer light (LED) on the top of the door panel? I don't have one in the dash.
