I've been using a pella 6000 oil extractor for a few years and it's great ! Only cost me £40 (pounds) and made oil changes a dodle! Sucks all of the oil out of the oil filter housing which wont't happen on a sump drain.

I use a lquivac http://www.liquivac.com/index.php?a=15 I like it becuase it is much simpler, really rugged plastic and the gasket/seals are leather so oils and fuel dont mess with them like the rubber/plastic ones most of the extractor pumps use. Plus by design, unless you really really overfill it past 8-9 quarts it'll never come out anyways. It's cheap too, can get them at tractor supply for $40.
