I have a new 2010 Jetta TDI Sedan. At purchase I added the media input + Ipod device to be able to listen and control my Ipod through the cars stereo. My dealer is now telling me that my car with the Premium 8 stereo is not compatible with the device. They say it can only have bluetooth or the MDI adapter but not both. This does not jive with everything I have read about the car. Does anybody have any advice?

I spend on average two and half hours commuting a day and this was one of the features that I considered a "must have" for the car.

They are misinformed. The 2010 should have come with the premium 8 touchscreen radio, 9w3 high bluetooth w/voice control and phone book in the display (see the bluetooth FAQ if it isn't showing up), and MDI.

These are all compatible. Many other people have it.

When I plug in my Iphone 4, I get a screen message on the phone "this connection is not optimized for this device" or something to that effect. The phone works perfectly as does the Ipod feature. Any further info on this warning message. Tnx

how many cords?

How many Ipod adapter cords does the kit come with? Mine came with one but as I was reading the manual, it seems as if it should come with more than one of different lengths.

This warning is normal, just disregard it, it just means that VW didn't pay Apple bags full of money for certification (rubber stamp)

I get the same message on my iPhone 4 when using in my car.

These are all compatible. Many other people have it.

In Canada it's standard on highline, optional with multimedia package on the other trim. In the US, it was standard on all 2010 Jetta TDI. It's been optional on the wagons in the US.
