Just bought a 2005 Passat TDI Sport wagon. Pickup on Thursday, March 17.
First diesel & we actually know the former owner quite well. He could not get a new Passat TDI so he opted for a gas model. He was (excuse the expression) rather anal about his car & only traded because he is getting ready to retire. Very picky about maintenance, oil changes, rust proofing.
We had a 1993 Volvo 850 which at 317K was beginning to nickle & dime us to death. ($1800 in 2010) We drove the Passat & loved it. The diesel seems to perform beautifully.
My wife is a dressage rider & her instructors son just happens to be a VW mechanic. Lucky us. Looking forward to your site.
