From all the posts on premature cam wear/failure it looks like I am not the only one.
I knew from the start at the engines first oil change to use the right oil and best oil available due to the narrow cam issue of the 05.5-06 Jetta TDI cam.
This engine has only seen Amsoil 5w-40, vw 505.01 oil but I am still seeing premature cam failure at the 119,000 mile mark. There is a noticeable ridge developing in the cam but only on every other lobe of the cam.
Looking at the forums I do not see any chatter of upgrade or additives to help with the wear issue or are there any for this problem?
Thanks ahead of time for any replies.
