Hi, I have a 2006 TDI Jetta in the family with close to 80,000 miles and have been researching the timing belt change. I noticed a wide price difference for the "Genuine part" timing belt kit at World Impex ($498.00) versus the "German" kit ($258.79) and the "delux kit" at DieselGeek ($229.00). Is there a real price differnece or is it a lable issue, AKA "Genuine Part"? Input on the use of these timing belt kits are welcomed.

P.S. Also have a 2005 A4 and I'm real tired of replacing front lights. I'm in Virginia Beach.

There is a real price difference. The genuine parts probably come in VW marked boxes but are usually made by conti or gates. The German kits should be conti or gates and don't come with VW markings. The VW OEM water pump is also expensive compared to "german" water pumps.

Worldimpex isn't going to sell you Chinese brand timing belts so you should be safe buying from them.
