Hi All,

Story is like this. Couple of weeks ago i got P2015 and P2016 as errors on my manifold. The intake flap motor was dead, manifold was working but it was clogged with carbon quite badly.
I cleared all errors but i still had P2016.

So, I purchased a refurbished manifold and a brand new flap motor, put them all together on the engine, but i still have these errors. Actually the flap is till locked on open and not working at all.

From what a colleague told me, i should do a adaptation to the new flap motor i bought? Would this fix my error?

Fault Location:
Intake Manifold Flap, Bank 1 - Stuck Open

Possible Cause:
Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) active.

Vacuum leak.
Intake Manifold Tuning Valve Position Sensor (G336).
Intake Manifold Runner binding or sticking.

Possible Solutions:
Replaced failed vacuum line.
Check Intake Manifold Tuning Valve Position Sensor (G336) and wiring, see repair manual.
Check Intake Manifold Flap.
Use Output Test.
Perform Basic Setting (Switch Ignition OFF between Output Test and Basic Setting).

Special Notes:
When found in Engine Engine: 2.0l TFSI
Perform Basic Setting.
Check TPL 2016420 Rest of World (RoW).
Check Engine Control Module Software Version, if necessary perform Update.
Replace Intake Manifold Flap Motor (V157) with updated part.
Check Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 01-08-12 or 2018402 North American Region (NAR) vehicles only.
Check Engine Control Module Software Version, if necessary perform Update.
Replace Intake Manifold Flap Motor (V157) with updated part.
Additional information may be found by searching RVU 24M2 / O3 (Exp. date November 30, 2011) or calling the VW dealer and checking the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

Audi Factory Service Bulletin OBDII Code P2004

Description:
The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects that the position feedback of the manifold flow valve position sensor is not within range of adapted value learned during implant initialization or after volatile memory reset.

EOBD II Error Code: P2015

Fault Location:
Intake Manifold Flap Position Sensor, Bank 1 - Implausible Signal

Possible Cause:
Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) active.
Power Loss.

Intake Manifold Flap faulty.
Intake Manifold Flap Motor (V157) stuck/faulty.
Engine Control Module Software/Firmware Version faulty.
Wiring/Connector(s) from/to Intake Manifold Flap Motor (V157) faulty.

Possible Solutions:
Check/Replace Wiring/Connector(s) from/to Intake Manifold Flap Motor (V157).
Check Intake Manifold Flap.
Check/Replace Intake Manifold Flap Motor (V157).
Perform Output Tests/Basic Setting.

Special Notes:
In some Cases the Issue can only be resolved by Replacing the whole Intake Manifold.
The Intake Manifold Flap Motor (V157) and Intake Manifold Tuning Valve Position Sensor (G336) may be Part of the same Unit.
When found in a VW Golf/Jetta (1K): 1.9l PD-TDI (BRM), check Engine Control Module (ECM) Software Version:
03G-906-016-AB @ 7328 or 7550 as well as 03G-906-016-AC @ 7280 or 7551 do have a Software Error which requires a special Adaptation for the Intake Manifold Flap Motor (V157) which at this Point can only be performed with the Factory Tool.

Intake Manifold Flap Position Sensor, Bank 1 - Circuit Low/Short Circuit to Earth

Possible Cause:
Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)(K83) active.

Fuse(s).
Wiring/Connector(s) short to earth.
Intake Manifold Flap Position Sensor.

Possible Solutions:
Check/Replace Fuse(s).
Check/Replace all faulty Wiring/Connector(s).
Read Measuring Value Blocks (MVB).

Well, there is nothing to be repaired with the bracket as the flap motor is brand new and the manifold is working 100% properly.
the problem is that i cannot pair the new flap motor code A2C59506246 with the manifold.
simply i cannot succeed with adaptation using VCDS.
i keep getting errors.

i do believe that this might be because the flap motor is a new revision and the manifold is an older revision.

has anyone encountered this type of malfunction?
