I just bought a used injection pump for my TDI. I am not quite ready to replace my current injection pump. So my question is what do I need to do to the pump so I can store it in my basement for like a year more or less? Do I need to fill it with diesel or ATF or something? Or do I do nothing, wrap it in plastic and shelf it? Thanks.

I would fill it with diesel or a diesel additive like power service. Something like diesel purge might be too strong.

Even after you remove the lines, it's still about 1/4 full of diesel inside. Assuming that some leaked out during shipping or handling, there's still some in there. Then wrap it in plastic.

Don't use ATF, use power service. It's mostly diesel but with some additives. If you don't keep it soaked, it'll crust a little. Injectors need to stay soaked too and they're small enough so that they can seize if they are not stored properly.
