how can i get it to disengage, it won't turn off?

There are sections on immobilizers in FAQ if you want to have a browse.
I presume you are female so you could add a comment on How many female drivers on here?
You only show 2005 in your car spec what do you drive Golf, Passat, Jetta or New Beetle you could add that?

Clues as to why it is engaged first? Did you change the battery? Are you sure it's the immobilizer? Look at the immobilizer FAQ for some ideas on possible troubleshooting.
