I have a 2002 VW Jetta 1.8L. My ignition key went bad so I bought a new one. Now I'm having the same problem, the car won't start. It does nothing. Just the lights on the dash come on. Any help or advice would be great. Thanks.
I'm no expert on these matters but if your old key worked before it went bad though you don't say which part went bad the RFID chip or the key itself. If the car used to run before you changed keys you could try taping the part with the RFID chip in near the ignition barrel then the RFID chip will still be picked up by the relay box. If it works then carefully swap the RFID chips in the keys.
