Gentlemen, if you have problem with FCM I suggest do not buy new one it will die within year or two or even sooner. In the past I did make my own FCM with 7 relays which required a lot of wiring etc. My BEW mk4's worst nightmare is FCM . Also do not buy any other fans except TYC or OEM if you have money. Any other fan that I got was not balanced right and caused a lot of vibration inside the car. Anyway the reason I am writing this message to you is that I found one very good substitute for the FCM and if you go to autocoolguy.com you will see what I am talking about. They make FCMs with solid state relays and PWM that will soft start your fans every time and increase fan speeds as the temperature increases and all this according to your adjustments. It also has AC bypass and all that good stuff.

Please check and see it for yourself.

I got myself one that will handle 85A.
