Now that you've joined and posted, you should be able to see. Also, DO NOT USE THE BEW INSTRUCTIONS! Your engine is a 1998 and has the ALH engine and looks different. Use those.Your removal details are excellent, but I can't get access to the installation details. I have a 1998 VW Beetle tdi, changed the waterpump and timing belt, but can't get it to run properly. It's on tdc, cam lobes in correct position and injector pump lined up, I'm at a loss.
Yea they redid site when it was sold and really messed everything up. You have to go to the premium members section and look through all the articles there to find it. They are not organized in any logical manner and most of the articles don't have working photos or illustrations so things like pin locations and timing marks can't be seen. We've all chastised the admins over this (admins not mods as the mods had nothing to do with it) yet we are still in the dark with no idea when and if it will be fixed. They say it was to make upgrades to the site but as far as I can tell there are no upgrades and now the site is essentially useless. Sorry man...Question- when I click on the link at the top of this discussion for "timing belt removal" I get an error message that says the requested page could not be found. I am wondering if anyone else is having that problem or if it's on my end?
