Awesome, yes, glad I could make a contribution!Great! The writeup to include this note for the 2011 models has been added. Also used the pic you posted on the vortex, is that OK?

The "reset" procedure worked on my '11...without resetting anything else, either! Thanks for the tip. Here's what I think is happening: I believe that "reset to factory" actually means "reset to fixed (as in, long-coded) settings". It probably reverts the MFI-adjustable features to whatever the settings are in the long coding. If you've made the change in the long coding, it now considers that to be the "factory" setting, and so does not bother to change it...that's my guess, anyway. You and me and everyone else, buddy
My thinking was that there's a bit of a bug with the 2011's, and people had had some success by flashing multiple times, cycling the ignition, etc. The other thing I was going to try was briefly (<1 sec) disconnecting the battery -- I bet that would work too. But this is a more elegant workaround. For what it's worth, I'm not 100% sure what the factory reset really is intended to do. I have VAG'd a bunch of things, like LED tails, coming home, etc., and it left all that stuff untouched. :dunno
