Greetings from a longtime troller.
I intended to keep mine a long time. I have an '81 cabrio and '83 GTI that I bought new in my garage, so I didn't think it would be hard to eventually hand our JSW down to my kids. VWoA bought it back with 2200 miles on it after the mechatronics unit and clutchpack failed as my daughter pulled out to pass a semi on a college scouting trip.
Maybe it was cursed as I'd never bought a two-pedal car.
