I figured out how to change the fuel filter thanks to the detailed instructions posted on this website. THANK YOU!!!

Now I was just wondering about cleaning the fuel filter housing out as it seemed there were some particles at the bottom when I changed the fuel filter at 40,000 miles. Obviously when I was told the fuel filter was changed at 20,000 miles . . . I was mislead!

Is there a way to drain the fuel out or do you detach the housing and pour it out?

Thank you!

I will try your suggestion, thank you. Good to know it is supposed to be that dirty . . . I had no idea.

Once the housing is cleaned out and a new filter is in do you need to put some fuel in the housing? Or an injection cleaner?

Can you use an injection cleaner with a diesel? If yes, what is recommended?
