This is a borg warner BV-43B off a CJAA engine (2010 Golf TDI). Of note - the actuator movement range was 2-15", I don't know if this is normal or not but the engine was in like new condition. You can buy replacement actuators for this turbo but internal parts cannot be replaced, only cleaned. It may be possible to weld/file down the vnt actuator ring if you're skilled but I didn't want to try to press the actuator mechanism out.

BRM engine actuators are not available but you can make a custom bracket to put on the CJAA/CBEA actuator and it'll work perfectly. The video also shows the need for stop screw adjustment on some BRM - I don't know why it's happening but the vanes close too far and it can cause engine hesitation: http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a5/turbo-response-adjustment-tdi.htm

The older videos (repeated below) show a Garrett turbocharger. They also have replacement actuators and you can dissemble the turbo to clean it or weld/file the vnt actuator ring if it's worn in as shown below: http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a4/VNT-turbo-removal-vanes.htm
