For my sins I have a Golf Mk4 1.9TDI (2000).

Joined here as I seem to have almost never ending problems with this car... the latest being the dreaded 'Immobiliser Activated' message on the dash !

It's funny but my engine and running has been good and the sort of things I've had to do mostly are suspension or interior related. It came with a brick holding up the drivers seat and a pile of news paper holding up the rear drivers window lol, got it at a good price though. Have you tried the faq for immo trouble shooting? Just use the one for the 99-2004 jetta as it'll be the same I should think.

2000 Golf TDI

Hello, Jeff from Wisconsin here.
I joined a while back to do some research on my 00 Golf Tdi. My current problem is a stuck VNT solenoid I believe. I am in the process of going through the forum to educate myself on replacing it myself. I am hoping to buy a Vag Com in the near future as I also own a 2004 Jetta Tdi.
