So just picked up a ‘15 TDI and like normal I use a battery tender when my vehicles are not driven for more than 5 days. So I was putting on the battery harness the tender hooks to. While doing so the positive cable slid off battery. Ok no biggie right...so I get in the car to back it out of garage and all sorts of warning lights.

So it didn’t like the battery was disconnected for 10 seconds I guess. I don’t remember my ‘13 Passat flipping out...so it would cause this when replacing the battery?!?!

I tried to reset the TPMS in the glove box; doesn’t do anything. I’m thinking that may be causing the other issues because ESC and traction control use info from there?

I did a scan with VGCS. I clear code for TPMS and it comes back. Wonder if I need to drive it a bit? Or should I disconnect battery again and let it sit?

Go figure my wife was gonna take her new car with the mother in law visiting to the Vegas strip in it; and I dork it up! One of those days I guess!

Disregard last. After 20 min of finding the right word combo in google; I found all I needed to do was drive the car 50’. Sure enough. Drove around the block and 100’ later all the lights extinguished.

Crisis averted!

Forum Rules and Guidelines

This is a new forum layout with loads of bugs which have been reported in the new thread. There is no TDI Wiki at the moment or original similes. It doesn't show the car spec/location or signature properly either

We Are Live - Community Feedback

This has been talked about many times.

I've made a pole which no one has posted in, there are a few votes and comments.

Do you like the new forum features?

Wiki pages have been restored as of 7th December, I asked where is the link it should be on top of the main forum.

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing and check systems out.
