I have just changed the oil and filter on my Audi a3 tdi 16v/170 it started ok but when I tried to start it later it started poorly and then died. Oil was latest spec 5w/30 and met vw 505.01 and there are no fault codes in the computer. I would be grateful of any assistance.

I've just read about the same issue on another forum and what's suggested is to make sure the battery is well charged, crank the engine until it starts or for 40 seconds and it will start apparently. If you've been doing a fair bit of cranking already you might need to charge the battery first:)

Your engine needs 3 things to run: fuel, air, and compression. Air is not likely, compression is not likely, so fuel is probably the problem. Either the fuel is physically not getting to engine or ECU is preventing fuel from getting to engine. It's possible a ground wire or wire harness plug is loose or corroded. Take a look around what you disturbed.
