Choices, choices, always a tough decision! The CC is a nice piece but different in character from a Golf TDI. I think the Golf has greater utility due to the hatchback, and, the TDI is more "socially responsible" by way of much better fuel economy. The CC is sexier but not quite as nimble. You really have to drive both back to back and make your choice. You probably can't go wrong with either one.
Earlier today I was invited to drive the new BMW 5 series, so took a 535i for an extended test drive. Frankly, I prefer my TDI, and just think, you can have a TDI and a CC for the same price as one 535i!
