New owner of a Black 2009 Jetta TDI purchased with 12,968 miles. Kelly Blue Book retail had appreciated from the original new sticker price, but I managed to get a good deal on it. I've never seen a two year old car that had appreciated in price before!

Love the car already.

There are a few electrical upgrades I want to do:

1) It came with the center console iPod Dock, but I want a 3.5mm Aux-In. I'm exploring the possibility of adding this to the existing center console wiring, paralleled off the dock.

2) I want to add a factory Bluetooth module, maybe the 9W2. I don't care about phonebook, and happy to use the phone controls for dialing, but want to be able to answer calls and adjust volume on the steering wheel. I also want A2DP to play streaming audio from my Droid X.

3) I would also like to shut off the headlights when the key is off. I have a bad habit of running the battery dead by leaving the headlights on.

4) I would like to add factory fog lights.

1. Check out this article, not too hard to add the aux. http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/multi/vw-ipod-cable-aux-in.htm You cannot add the MDI controller without adding the newer radio though.

2. 9w3 is a little better but since you mentioned a2dp, you'll want the 9w2. Check out the bluetooth FAQ, lots of places to buy retrofit harnesses. I don't have a writeup that includes a bare bones installation instead of a swap so if you want to take some pics it would help out others.

3. Sorry, there's already a ding-ding that reminds you. There is no coding that can fix this.
