Hi all

OK, quick intro (mainly so I can see the resources, but it's nice to be nice, too :) )

I'm Mouse and I live in the UK. I have a 2003 VW Bora 1.9 PD130. Great car, although it currently has a habit of deciding "130BHP is too much for you, I'll cut the boost" (i.e. it's going into limp mode)

I'm going to be running some checks to find what the problem is, but I suspect sticking vanes (my mother was the previous owner, and I know how she drove it...)

Anyway, that's enough about me. How are you?

LOL...nice way of describing limp mode.

What are the error codes? Many people throw money at the car trying to fix it but without scanning the car or datalogging the sensors. Sometimes you have to spend money on tools to save money on parts.

Also look at the writeup on how to replace the actuator. There are videos that show a sticking actuator. It could be that as well or the vacuum lines.
Does giving it some repeated hard, high rpm runs do anything? If there's a little soot built up, the Italian tune up should help burn it out.
