Hi All,

I am the proud new owner of a 1994 Audi 80, which has the 1.9TDI 1Z engine.
I was directed here by the "Dagdag" section of the S2forum (I also own an S2).

After 140,000 miles, the engine feels a bit tired, and my initial thoughts are to have a go at cleaning the intake manifold and EGR valve (or possibly blank this off completely?)

I have tried a search, but cant find exactly what I'm looking for, which is how-to's on :-

Intake manifold removal and cleaning;
EGR cleaning or deleting.

Thanks in advance :thumbsup

Look through the FAQ section 1000q and refer to the mk3 Jetta/Passat How To list. Also see the top of the mk3 subforum (which is what your 1Z engine would fall in), the "How TO" list is also there as a sticky post.

Maybe the vacuum lines or fuel nozzles are are worn out? The engine should still be in excellent condition at 140k. When was the fuel filter last changed?
