Hello, We have recently bought a Jetta Sportwagen TDI 2011. Our diesel experience was a 1983 Mercedes TD300 wagon. Our Volkswagen experience was a 1975? bus! So far, so good with this wagon. Actually, we really love it. Our only question is with the pet barrier. We never thought to ask! Our last wagon was a '93 Mercedes TE300 which had a functioning cargo cover and pet barrier so I'm feeling really dumb about not asking. We've been looking at online options and this site, and the choices don't seem that great... Any other solutions than buying the VW part from the UK or Canada would be very welcome! If we discover something we will let you all know. Thanks very much.

The VW part will fit great, I have one for an older Passat wagon. However, it's quite expensive as you have noticed. The problem with some pet barriers is that they rely on clamping the floor-roof to stay in place. The VW pieces are rock solid and fit on the rear seat backstop pegs.

Hi chittychittybangbang and 50mpg, Thank you for the suggestions. We'll look at the Weathertech but are concerned about the floor-roof clamping. Where do we go fro the VW part - really only Canada or the UK?

Pet Barrier Jetta TDI Sportwagen 2011

We purchased a "Walky Guard" from Orvis (or check www.bice-srl.com) which attaches to the rear seat head rests and has adjustable horizontal bars. Costs about $60. That, plus a five-pack floor mat set through the dealer and we are totally set!
