Greeting from the western suburbs of Chicago. We're on our 2nd VW having joined the TDi family back in '04 with a Jetta Wagon which was replaced this month after only 195,000 miles with a new '11 Golf. So far other than the loss of mpg I really like the new car. Hopefully it will last as long and be as trouble free as the Wagon was.

I've only had a few minutes to browse the site but it looks nice and informative.

Welcome! You'll really like the Golf, it's a much improved platform vs. the mk4 cars. Why not the sportwagen though to replace the old wagon?

I selected a Golf based on JSW cost more and sticker showed less mpg highway. I use it mostly for my 90-110 mile per day commute although with the cost of gasoline the wife's Wrangler is spending more weekends sitting unless we need to haul lots 'o stuff.

I really like the Golf.
