Hi, Y'all,
I'm happy to have found this site. It looks like this site will help me with future repairs. We bought a new beatle TDI stick in 2000. It has been a love-hate relationship ever since. the love part was the mileage with 52mpg (highway). The hate part was the damn electrical repairs, I hate computers in cars. Two days before Christmas my wife was involved in a crash when another driver made a left right in front of her and the car was a total. We are now looking into obtaining a new or late mod Jetta TDI wagon.
Have fun,
Buckshot

It's funny how some of these tdi's seem to just go on and on without problem then others like yours have electrical problems that are a pita to fix. I've seen a lot of it on these forums but hardly any in real life, I've got a friends vw sharan out side just now to replace the water pump again, it's an absolute banger of a car but it just keeps going even though he totally neglects it.
Don't forget to check out the buying guide if you're going for another car:)
