Hello! So I've been having this chatter problem with my clutch. I have switched to a single mass clutch about 2 years ago and it had no excessive sounds. Worked awesome, but about 3 4 months my gearbox broke. Huge hole in it, gearbox oil on the clutch and it started slipping.. normal. I got tired of giving mechanics money for things that i can so too. Changed the gearbox (5speed) and installed the old clutch. I did clean it as well as i could... After that the clutch started rattling.I was annoyed by it ao decided to buy a new one (pressure plate and friction plate without the single mass flywheel) When the clutch pedal is pushed there are no sounds works like a normal tdi, when i let go of the clutch there are little sounds but negligible, but the sound that is bothering me is when i go off from a full stop. I have some doubts it might be from the flywheel, but only doubts. That is why I'm asking you pros out there. The car is a golf mk4 1.9 TDI 90hp ALH 1998 year.
Thank you!

Forum Rules and Guidelines

This is a new forum layout which is owned by a company 6 months ago that doesn't give a dam with loads of bugs which have been reported in the new thread. There is no TDI Wiki at the moment or original similes. It doesn't show the car spec/location.

We Are Live - Community Feedback

This has been talked about many times.

I've made a poll which no one has posted in, there are a few votes and comments.

Do you like the new forum features?

Wiki pages have been restored as of 7th December, I asked where is the link it should be on top of the main forum.

Recheck what you have done fitting the new clutch?

Yeah i'll do that. Maybe a flywheel problem or some bolt or fitting the pressure plate.
