I replaced on my 2001 jetta tdi glowplugs ,glowplug relay, and coolant temp sensor.
I have no power to the glowplugs, indicator on dash comes on for a second.
When i unplug coolant temp sensor, the glowplugs are energised and work fine.
Could it maybe be a problem with the ecu?

Normally the coolant temp sensor trick only works if the coolant temp sensor is bad. Is that why you changed it in the first place? You know they're energised because you tested it with a multimeter?

Are you the original owner? I know that on the non-PD TDI you could adjust glow plug duration with VCDS. I think it's under adaptation, engine. But they should still light up. Another thing you could try is to check for ambient temperatures under engine measuring blocks to see what the ECU is seeing. If you see ambient temps on cold engine, you know the wiring is good and sensor is good.
