Gasoline in my engine

Sadly, a station attendant put gasoline in my 2009 TDI. I did not know until later, when the car wouldn't start. Nearly $500 later, I found out that seven gallons of gasoline had to be pumped from my car, filters replaced, yada yada yada. The dealer said that I should have no problems, as this was a one-time event, and the car wasn't driven far. Question: can I expect this car to return to normal operation, or will there be unforeseen circumstances in the future?
