I have a 2006 Beetle TDI. Does any one know of an aftermarket source that stocks the foam seal under the engine cover and blanket covering the front of the engine? I believe its purpose is to work with the engine cover to reduce engine noise. The foam seal under the engine cover is dry rot and disintegrating. The blanket part in front of the engine is OK. Although not a deadline deficiency, if not too expensive, I would consider replacing this faulty part. I did not see this in the Bentley manual and have not found it on the web.

Thanks:

not sure about your engine cover noise reduction material, but if its the same as on mine 2005 jetta, then I am sure you can make your own from Home Depot parts. Remove your old foam, buy another one from Home Depot and glue it on, then cut the rest.
