yep, almost every mk3 gets this sooner or later. is there a TSB on it?
First thing to check limp mode w/CEL
It seems as though many people who experience limp mode in the mk3 TDI are getting it first through the ecu hose. The writeup is in the sticky post at the top but here it is again.
It sets a check engine light as well and if you take it to the dealer they will tell you that you need a new ECU. First check this hose. I am posting this because it seems many people experience this.

Don't thinks so since the dealer always wants to replace the ECM.
