Hi everyone, I have enjoyed all of the great information on this site, sadly,at 50k miles my timing belt broke on my 1998 ahu.
The tensioner flange (plastic) failed.
The 90 dollar one I have ordered from the local dealer "should" be metal.
Frank Irving has been great.
Has anyone else had plastic flange troubles?

Which flange? The timing belt tensioner?

Yeah, he's supposedly the go-to guy for TDI heads. Is it up an running now? I hope you have better luck now.
