Hi everyone
I have just purchased an Audi a4 1.9 avant tdi 6 speed (2003) and im loving it ,the only problem i have with it, is a slipping serpentine belt ,ive looked into the engine bay and there does not seem a lot of room to work with spanners etc ,some people have told me you have to remove headlights bumper etc to carry out this job,or can i remove the belt/auto tensioner another quicker way, also regarding this auto tensioner can i just purchased the damper which is connected to it or do you have to buy it as a complete unit .any ideas or help would be much appreciated.

Not sure since we didn't have that engine here. It should be similar to this writeup: http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/b5/serpentine-ac-belt-tdi.htm

Someone also has a rare example of a Passat that may have a similar engine but I think yours may have already transitioned to pumpe duse: http://www.myturbodiesel.com/forum/f5/1998-b5-passat-tdi-one-2-stateside-2881/ there are lots of pics which may help you in that forum thread.
