Hi, I was wondering if anybody has experienced symptoms on a tdi-pd engine like temporary engine jerking as it would not get enough fuel accompanied by flashing of dash lights for a few seconds, which go away if one accelerates the engine. A couple of years ago I had a bad electrical contact at the pre-supply diesel pump in the tank. At that time I removed the slide-on contact, pressed it with pliers and reconnected which fixed the problem until recently when i experience the above described failure symptoms. No error codes are recorded by ECU. Any suggestions? Thx.

It sounds like an electrical problem if the dash lights are flashing. Have the battery and alt checked out at the same time the engine is jerking. The alt pulley has a one way clutch on it so with belt off the pulley shouldn't spin both ways if you counterhold the alternator shaft.
