Many people new to VWs might see this spec listed in the buyer's guide for the 2009 Jetta TDI and wonder what a DSG is. This explains it. I haven't owned a DSG car and like anything else it takes getting used to.
It also looks like enough DSG drivers people report that mileage is a few mpg down compared to a conventional manual. The difference in fuel cost is only $12-20 a month but you do lose out on hypermiler bragging rights!
