For storage, a 4 post is fine. They don't work as well for maintenance on suspension or wheels, etc., because the car is resting on the tires.

Great site! That backs up what I said although now I'm thinking that if you have a 2 post lift the car's constant weight won't wear out the springs, and I don't think it's bad for the car to be raised a little.
