I'm doing DMF replacement (DSG), but I'm stuck with axles bolts. It looks like they should be only 30ft-lb but I cannot loose them. Any good suggestions?

I quite often get good success by using a good bit and hammering it in, it helps to frighten the bolt loose but good quality only otherwise it might just break or bend.:)

I've heard of "hammer" method, just wanted to confirm. And what about soak it with some liquid wrench?

You could try soaking them, I don't think it would hurt anyway but yeh the hammer method, needed that on quite a few bolts on quite a few cars. I usually fit the right size bit into it's holder/socket and use an extension bar to hold then give the end a couple of good hard whacks, it seems to work well. You learn these things from driving older cars all the time lol:)

thanks, I learn a lot over last few weeks working on timing belt/camshaft and now on DMF. I really like that "almost" perfect car.
