The cruise control on my 2006 TDI Mark V started working only intermittently for about one month, then quit working completely until one week ago. It worked perfectly for about 3 days and today it is back to intermittently. Anybody got any ideas as where to check? Bad Ground maybe? Cheers, Kip

Possible, it could be a bad brake switch though. This was a common problem and it results in the car thinking your brakes are on which kicks off the CC. Also check for error codes.

cruise control fault code

I purschased a MaxScan VAG Autel fault code scanner and came up with E45 defective switch. I assume this is the cruise control switch on the steering column and not the brake light switch. Is this correct? I have read that a little WD40 on the switch and they came back to life. I was quoted about $400 for a new switch. Help. Cheers, Kip
